ConocoPhillips Norway has around 1,900 employees. Its headquarters are located in Tananger, in the municipality of Sola near Stavanger. This is also the regional office for the company's upstream activities in Europe and West Africa and is part of the North Sea Business Unit.

Company benefits at the Tananger office include a staff restaurant, gym and swimming pool, daily commuter buses, day care centre, company athletics team, arts association, choir, band, other recreational activities along with the sponsorship of various social events.

Stavanger is Norway's fourth-largest city with a population of around 120,000. The sister city Sandnes and the municipalities of Sola and Randaberg have a population of around 100,000. The city has been characterized by the petroleum industry in the past 30 years and is Norway's oil capital.

Our Tananger operations work in collaboration with our offices in Aberdeen and Teesside in the UK.

The Teesside Facility is a crude oil reception, storage and trans-shipment installation. Operations comprise of both processing and tanker loading facilities and cover a 307-acre site at Seal Sands near Middlesbrough. Stabilised oil is stored in a 375-acre tank farm at Greatham. A two-mile corridor containing pipelines, communications and utility services links the two sites

The terminal has received numerous Gold Medals and President's awards from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) over the years. These awards are in recognition of the site's occupational safety achievements acknowledging successful management of occupational health and accident prevention.

The Teesside terminal is accredited to ISO 14001, the international environmental management system standard, which it has held continuously since October 1998. The site is on the fringe of the estuary mudflats of Seal Sands, an area of considerable conservation interest and home to wildfowl and seal colonies.

Short-Term Apprentice Opportunities

At ConocoPhillips we offer a variety of placements in fields such as logistics, office and culinary work for students who are currently on the upper secondary level (Vg2) of education. The placement offers invaluable work experience and is a great way of learning more about career opportunities that await you at ConocoPhillips. The assignments vary in duration and type and are located at our head office in Tananger, Norway. Typically, we commence our apprentice recruiting activity at the start of the year and open our application process from January to March.


Apprentice Opportunities

ConocoPhillips has a long tradition of hiring apprentices both onshore and offshore. Each apprentice is assigned a mentor who provides support throughout the apprenticeship.
