2018 Foundational Skills Training and Internship Program
ConocoPhillips continues to contribute towards the capacity building of Timor-Leste nationals, through opportunities over a broad spectrum of activities, reflective of local needs. The first stage of the program is designed to give the selected Timor-Leste nationals foundational skills and knowledge necessary for any future employment. Participants can then apply for the second stage of the program, a 12 (twelve) month internship with ConocoPhillips, to gain invaluable oil and gas industry experience. Stage One: 6 month Foundational Skills Program for recent University graduates
We are excited to offer 14 (fourteen) recent university graduates the opportunity to be part of our Foundational Skills Training Program. The Program will provide an overview of the oil and gas industry; safety; training in computer literacy and communication skills – all essential for any future employment.
We are seeking applications from graduates in the following disciplines:
Bachelor of Engineering in either Petroleum, Electrical, Instrumentation, Mechanical or Telecommunications
Bachelor of Business or Bachelor of Commerce in either Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Law, Management, Purchasing, Procurement or Logistics
Bachelor of Information Technology, Systems or Applications.
Please note that Applicants must have graduated between 2015 and 2018 to be eligible to apply.
To be considered for a place in the program, applicants will need:
Timor-Leste citizenship or permanent residency (essential). • Bachelor degree in one of the disciplines listed above (or similar).
The ability to work in a team environment and demonstrate behaviours that support our ConocoPhillips SPIRIT Values of Safety, People, Integrity, Responsibility, Innovation and Teamwork.
English fluency, both written and verbal.
To be eligible for an Australian visa to undertake training in Australia.
Applicants who are accepted into the Program will be paid an allowance during the training. The Program will be conducted in Dili in Timor-Leste and Darwin in the Northern Territory, and accommodation and meals (or a meals allowance) will be provided in Darwin during the Darwin-based training sessions.
Participants who successfully complete stage one are eligible to apply for 7 (seven) internship positions within these ConocoPhillips Australia departments: Exploration / Petroleum engineering, Operations Engineering, Finance, Information Technology, Marine, and Logistics and Procurement. Interns will be based either in Dili, Perth or Darwin and selection for each internship position is based on performance, attendance and competencies achieved during Stage One.
Excellent remuneration and benefits will be provided during the Internship. At the completion of the Internship, participants will be awarded a certificate of accomplishment.
Please note that successful completion of either stage does not guarantee continued employment with ConocoPhillips.
