Why Choose Alaska
Our Alaska operations cover a vast expanse and offer amazing career and lifestyle opportunities – ranging from the North Slope, lying north of the Arctic Circle, to Cook Inlet, just south of Anchorage. The reasons to join us are just as far-reaching:
Compensation & Benefits
ConocoPhillips is proud to provide highly competitive compensation packages and world-class benefits that support good health and financial well-being for you and your family. Exempt employees who live in Alaska receive a 15% Alaska Market Factor allowance, up to an annual maximum of $25,000, in addition to base pay. Engineers working on the North Slope and other remote locations are also eligible for a remote site allowance.
Alaska is a great place to raise a family, with safe communities, good schools, first-class medical facilities, and exciting and varied activities. When our team members aren’t hiking, climbing, camping or ice skating, they can be found white water rafting, cycling, hunting, skiing or fishing. Anchorage alone has more than 200 miles of biking, hiking, cross country skiing, equestrian and dog mushing trails to enjoy. Museums, galleries, theaters, great restaurants and shopping are also plentiful here.
With 586,400 square miles containing more than 40 historically active volcanoes, 33,000 miles of coastline and over half of the world’s glaciers, Alaska is vast and beautiful. Working in this environment comes with a great responsibility. ConocoPhillips places the highest priority on care for and protection of the environment. Our Alaska operations are among the safest oil fields in the world. Good science, technology and operating practices work together to protect the natural environment and our workers, as well as the communities where we operate.
ConocoPhillips employees in Alaska contribute more than 7,000 total volunteer hours each year, and the company offers grants to help fund employee-championed programs. Since 2000, the company has also donated over $100 million to non-profit organizations. ConocoPhillips Art Gallery at Alaska Pacific University, the ConocoPhillips Integrated Science Building at University of Alaska Anchorage and the Providence Cancer Center, brought to the community by ConocoPhillips, are just a few examples of how we give back to the community. We want Alaska to be a better place because of ConocoPhillips.
