Graduate Profiles
Rhianna:
Who am I?
I joined the ConocoPhillips Australia team at the beginning of 2020 as a Graduate Mechanical Engineer. My journey began when I applied for the ConocoPhillips SPIRIT Scholarship in my second year of university where I was studying a Bachelor of Engineering, majoring in Mechanical.
The best part about my graduate role is the supportive environment and approachable colleagues. As a graduate, I feel comfortable learning in such a safe culture that reflects the values I hold.
Currently, I am undertaking various technical and problem-solving projects with mechanical elements. These pieces of work and valuable experiences continue to develop my skill set and career as a Mechanical Engineer.
What were the benefits of the SPIRIT Scholarship?
The SPIRIT Scholarship provided me with financial benefits whilst studying and an incredible opportunity to connect with industry professionals and gain company support for the remainder of my degree. I received a mentor that was invested in my development and career with a unique insight into engineering. As I applied for a range of work experience opportunities, I felt that this scholarship gave me a head start in the recruitment process. |
Carla:
Who am I?
I first joined the ConocoPhillips Australia team in my third year of university as part of the Vacation Work Program. Over the three months, this opportunity encouraged me to apply for the Graduate Program. At the beginning of 2020, I came back to ConocoPhillips as a Graduate Process Engineer.
In this graduate role, I have had a range of opportunities and chances for skill development. My tasks include assisting with daily operations and monitoring optimisation of production at the Australia Pacific LNG facility.
What were the benefits of the Vacation Work Program?
I thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to learn from industry professionals across of range of practical and theoretical experiences. These experiences included a visit to the Australia Pacific LNG facility on Curtis Island. This practical experience made me a good candidate when searching for graduate employment. |
