Description:
 

ConocoPhillips Canada is looking for a new addition to our Montney Operations Services team. This Indigenous employment opportunity is crafted to provide top Indigenous talent with the chance to learn and develop their professional skills in the O&G industry. The Montney team is pleased to offer a 4 to 6-month work term that will provide exciting, practical, well-rounded experience in the following areas: Operations, Maintenance, and Operations Services. Our new team member will be paired with and mentored by an expert team member, to gain valuable knowledge around how our operations are run and maintained. As well, this role will provide exposure to the administrative and service portion of the business, specifically in the areas of security, supply chain, and transportation logistics.
 

This role is primarily based out of our field site, with some time spent in an office setting. Transportation from our Integrated Field Center (located near Wonowon) will be provided to and from the field site.
 

This posting is intended for individuals who self-identify as an Indigenous member of the Blueberry, Halfway River, or West Moberly First Nations.
 

Responsibilities:

  • Support and follow the policies, goals, efforts, and programs of CPC's Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Management System. Ensure HSE issues are given primary consideration in all activities undertaken within area of responsibility. Unsafe acts and/or conditions, no matter in what area of responsibility, are to be reported so corrective actions can be taken
  • Assists with the routine collection of operating data, temperatures, pressures and levels, making appropriate electronic log-book entries
  • Assists Operators and Maintenance team with troubleshooting on control issues, plant upsets and equipment breakdowns.
  • Maintains communication with operations and maintenance staff regarding daily activities to ensure safe operations in area of responsibility.
  • Conduct routine housekeeping duties
  • Assists Operations Services Lead with logistics to ensure a safe and effective operation of the camp.
     

Required Qualifications:

  • Candidates must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Candidate must self-identify as an Indigenous member of the Blueberry or Halfway River First Nations
  • Self-motivated with a willingness to learn.
  • Some experience with e-mail, word processing and other office-based software programs
  • Good time management skills
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, team-player attitude
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada on a full-time basis without restrictions.
