Alaska Overview
ConocoPhillips is Alaska’s largest crude oil producer and largest owner of exploration leases, with approximately 1.6 million net undeveloped acres at year-end 2021. The company produced an average of 197 thousand barrels of oil equivalent per day in 2021. ConocoPhillips has major ownership interests in two of North America’s largest oil fields, both located on Alaska’s North Slope—Kuparuk, which the company operates, and Prudhoe Bay. Additionally, ConocoPhillips operates the Alpine Field located on the Western North Slope. The company has an ownership interest in the Trans-Alaska Pipeline System (TAPS) and owns/operates the Polar Tankers fleet.

Description
The Release Train Engineer is key leader of the SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) Operating Model within Alaska Digital Technologies organization. Primary responsibilities include: maturing and facilitating the Alaska Digital Technologies ART, tracking budget and delivery of outcomes. This role will partner closely with Alaska Digital Technologies Leadership team on stakeholder communications, and risk management.

This is a cross-functional opportunity.

Job Description

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Key leader of the SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) Operating Model within Alaska BU
  • Partner with the Lean Agile Center of Excellence (LACE), as a key stakeholder for all LACE deliverables intended for execution on and/or around the ART
  • Communicates dependencies and coordinates resources with Enterprise ARTs
  • Prepare and facilitate the Alaska Digital Technologies ART ceremonies and events
  • Support AK Digital Technologies Leadership in maintaining strong communication and relationships with stakeholders, ensuring risks/issues are identified, captured and escalated appropriately
  • Accountable for maintaining AKDT project portfolio within Target Process
  • Drive continuous improvement through maturation of AKDT ways of working within the SAFe Operating Model
  • Project portfolio budget coordinator for AKDT
  • Monitor and maintain project portfolio budget vs actual forecasts
  • Partner with AK Finance to complete budget variance reporting, LRP submission, key Latest Estimates (LE) and AFE routing
  • Partner with AK Digital Technologies Leadership generating and submitting annual project budget
  • Partner with Enterprise IT Finance as AKDT Budget Coordinator for all project budget deliverables and associated reporting to Enterprise IT Finance
  • Support AK Digital Technologies Leadership driving transparency and visibility of project execution impact to base budget

Basic/Required:

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in MIS, Information Technology, Computer Science, Finance or related discipline or foreign equivalent
  • Scrum Master Certification
  • Advanced proficiency with Jira
  • Intermediate proficiency with IT Project Management in a large enterprise environment or Agile Development

Preferred:

  • 3+ years’ of oil and gas experience
  • SAFe certified Release Train Engineer (RTE) or qualified to obtain certification
  • Proficiency with Target Process and Confluence
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, strategic planning, risk assessment, and resource allocation for portfolio of projects
  • Ability to navigate complex organizational dynamics
  • Strong tactical, strategic thinking, problem solving skills, and leadership
  • Proven ability to successfully juggle multiple projects and priorities and willing to shift direction quickly when priorities change
  • Delivers results through realistic planning to accomplish goals
