Job Summary
Alaska OverviewConocoPhillips is Alaska’s largest crude oil producer and largest owner of exploration leases, with approximately 1.2 million net undeveloped acres at year-end 2022. The company produced an average of 200 thousand barrels of oil equivalent per day in 2022. ConocoPhillips has major ownership interests in two of North America’s largest oil fields, both located on Alaska’s North Slope—Kuparuk, which the company operates, and Prudhoe Bay. Additionally, ConocoPhillips operates the Alpine Field located on the Western North Slope. The company has an ownership interest in the Trans-Alaska Pipeline System (TAPS) and owns/operates the Polar Tankers fleet.
ConocoPhillips Alaska is seeking a high school student to participate in our High School Program. The objective of the program is to provide a eligible high school student with exposure to the corporate work environment and the oil and gas industry while performing administrative support duties.
Assignments will be located in Anchorage, Alaska. Typical lengths of program will run through the school year. If you are selected as the High School Assistant, you will work 2 to 4 hours per day, Monday through Friday with the possible option of working 8 hours per day during the summer months based on work group needs and availability.
Please note, hours worked per day are flexible dependent on selected student’s school schedule/availability.
Job Description
Your responsibilities may include:
- Data entry and spreadsheet creation
- Copying, filing and shredding confidential documents
- Monitoring office supply inventory and ordering items as needed
- Assisting with ConocoPhillips special events as needed
- Distributing mail
- Assisting with presentations and special projects
Basic/Required:
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer
- Current level in an Anchorage, AK area high school: Junior or Senior
- Willing and able to work a minimum of 2 hours per day, Monday – Friday
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office software
- A minimum GPA of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale
Preferred:
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Ability to deliver results through realistic planning to accomplish goals
- Demonstrates taking ownership of actions and follows through on commitments
