Job Summary
Position Overview
If you are selected as the F&PA Analyst you will provide accounting, business analysis, and decision support to operations and management. Typical duties include preparing production, cost and/or capital accruals, management reporting, assisting with forecasts and ad hoc analysis. You will report to the Director F&PA and be a critical member of the Business Unit and Finance team supporting successful execution of our business.
Your responsibilities may include:
- Timely and accurately preparation of monthly production, cost, and capex accruals
- Work closely with business to understand variances vs prior month and outlooks
- Communication of production estimates and results to BU leadership and others
- Support weekly / monthly management reporting
- Analysis of income statement and certain balance sheet accounts
- Ensure accounting records are accurate and in accordance with company policies
- Resolve production, revenue and balance sheet questions/issues encountered during closing and aspiring to ensure timely and accurate financial results
- Coordinate of reporting and disclosures, explanations to auditors and special projects as requested
Basic/Required:
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, related field, or foreign equivalent
- 1 or more years of oil and gas industry or public accounting experience
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft O365 applications: Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams and Word
Preferred:
- 3 or more years of experience with upstream oil and gas
- 1 or more years of experience communicating with multiple levels in an organization; finance, operations & management
- Intermediate proficiency in SAP
- Intermediate understanding of how key financial and quantitative indicators impact the business
- Ability to handle several tasks simultaneously under tight deadlines
- Takes ownership of actions and follows through on commitments by holding others accountable and standing up for what is right
- Builds effective solutions based on available information and makes timely decisions that are safe and ethical
- Listens actively and invites new ideas for exchanged opinions, then influences and acts to drive positive performance and achieve results
