Description:

ConocoPhillips Canada is currently seeking an Asset Integrity Technical Specialist. Reporting to the Asset Integrity Technical Supervisor / Chief Inspector, this position supports the safe delivery and execution of Asset Integrity Programs. Responsible for implementation of the integrity programs for pressure vessels, pressure piping systems, tanks, and pipelines in accordance with provincial regulations and ConocoPhillips’s (CPC) policies, procedures, and standards to ensure risk mitigation and compliance. Ensure ConocoPhillips vision to maintain safe operating equipment that complies with CPC and regulatory board directives.

This position is a Calgary based role working a 5x2 schedule with 10 – 15% site travel.


Responsibilities:

  • Support and comply with the policies, goals, efforts, and programs of CPC's Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Management System. Unsafe acts and/or conditions, no matter in what area of responsibility, are to be reported so corrective actions can be taken.
  • Responsible for coordination of activities to ensure compliance with the following programs: Pressure Equipment Integrity Management Program (PEIM) and Pipeline Integrity Management Program (PIMP).
  • Responsible for the execution and management of internal program audits, gap assessments and corrective actions.
  • Support capital projects by providing design input into corrosion and materials recommendations for pressure equipment.
  • Support the creation and tracking of budgets and the development and update of KPI’s for management review information.
  • Explore, research, and evaluate innovative technologies to champion best in class integrity program delivery. Develop programs for approved technology post-trial to be incorporated into routine use.
  • Identify and recommend changes to specifications based on regulatory/code requirements, industry practice, experience, and overall usability of CPC specifications. Responsible for numerous standards and practices.
  • Support the development and deliver training of integrity programs.
  • Participate in MOCs, RCAs, and RAs as required and incorporate findings into Integrity

Required Qualifications:

  • Recognized technology diploma with 8+ years pressure equipment inspection experience.
  • API 510 – Pressure Vessel Inspector certification
  • Experience with inspection, construction, repair, and maintenance of pressure equipment and pipelines
  • Working knowledge of Technical Safety British Columbia (TSBC) and Alberta Boiler’s Safety Association (ABSA) requirements.
  • Strong knowledge of field operation.
  • Strong PC skills (Microsoft Office, Adobe, Outlook, SAP, etc.).
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision in the execution of their duties.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada on a regular full-time basis without restrictions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Mechanical, Materials or Welding Engineering Technologist
  • In-Service Pressure Equipment Inspector Certificate of Competency (Boilers, Pressure Vessels and Pressure Piping) (ISI-BPVPP).
  • API 653 & 570 certification with working knowledge of CSA & ASME Codes
  • NACE training or certification in corrosion control, cathodic protection, coatings, etc.
