Job Summary
An exciting 12-month parental leave cover is available for an experienced HR Business Partner, based on site at Curtis Island, Gladstone, Queensland. This position requires a daily ferry commute to the APLNG facility. This position can be worked in either a full-time capacity, or for the right candidate a part-time (0.8 FTE) opportunity may be available.Position Overview

ConocoPhillips’ Australian headquarters are located in Brisbane. Our focus is supplying Australian customers with natural gas and international customers with liquefied natural gas. We do this through our 47.5 percent interest in the Australia Pacific LNG joint venture, one of the largest producers of natural gas in eastern Australia. ConocoPhillips Australia also operates the Australia Pacific LNG liquefied natural gas facility near Gladstone. We are also an exploration company, with ongoing exploration occurring in the Bowen and Surat Basin in Central Queensland and new exploration in the Otway Basin along the southern coast of Australia to identify natural gas reserves for supply to Australian customers.
About the role
Based on Curtis Island, Gladstone and reporting to the HR Business Partner – Brisbane, the HR Business Partner – Gladstone will be responsible for, but not limited to providing HR generalist and recruitment support to site-based teams and leaders. You will partner with key stakeholders to achieve business goals, coordinate HR processes and programs and proactively monitor the Gladstone organisation’s HR needs.
In addition, the HR Business Partner – Gladstone will be responsible for the following:
- Applying HR policies and provide fit for purpose HR solutions to support organizational goals
- Manage employee relation matters, always maintaining a high standard of support to employees and leaders
- Assist the Business with the full recruitment cycle for Gladstone based roles, including sourcing, interviewing and candidate management
- Partner with the Brisbane based HR Team to identify, develop and implement HR programs. Identify common support needs and apply a streamlined and consistent approach in the delivery of HR needs across different work groups and locations
- Partner with the Gladstone Facility Manager and Gladstone Leadership Team to support people programs, organisation design and resourcing strategies
- Coordinate and lead key HR processes including but not limited to performance management, talent development and succession planning, health and wellness initiatives and HR records management
About you

You will also bring to the role:
- A Human Resources Management or relevant business degree qualification (eg. Bachelor of Business)
- 5 – 7 Years of HR Generalist experience, proven experience in the Oil and Gas, Resources or associated industries will be highly regarded
- Exposure to recruitment, compensation and benefits, performance management and disciplinary processes will be advantageous
- Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships with all leaders and employees, with the ability to influence stakeholders while maintaining a strong customer focus
- The ability to manage small projects and problem solving
