Job Summary
Alaska OverviewConocoPhillips Alaska, Inc. is Alaska’s largest crude oil producer and largest owner of exploration leases, with approximately 1 million net undeveloped acres at year-end 2023. The company produced an average of 195 thousand barrels of oil equivalent per day (MBOED) in 2023. ConocoPhillips Alaska holds major ownership interests in two of North America’s largest legacy equivalent per day conventional oil fields, both located on Alaska’s North Slope: Kuparuk, which the company operates, and Prudhoe Bay. Additionally, ConocoPhillips Alaska owns and operates several fields on the Western North Slope. The company also has an ownership interest in the Trans-Alaska Pipeline System and owns and operates the Polar Tankers fleet.
Position Overview
ConocoPhillips Alaska Aviation operates a fleet of 66-passenger Q400 aircraft to transport field workers to remote work locations on the North Slope of Alaska. The company also operates a Twin Otter and CASA to fly workers and supplies between North Slope fields.
ConocoPhillips Alaska Aviation is currently recruiting for Aviation Operations Support Specialist for our flight and passenger operations team. The normal work schedule is Monday through Friday with occasional work on weekends.
Your responsibilities may include:
- Coordinate with travel planners to meet the travel needs of workers supporting North Slope oil and gas operations. Utilize iLogistics passenger reservation system to support passenger travel needs
- Manage phone activity and provide exceptional customer service
- Coordinate and disseminate flight information to flight crews, ticket counter, ground support crews, aircraft maintenance coordinators and North Slope personnel
- Conduct flight following of company aircraft. Provide weather and runway condition reports to pilots
- Coordinate and disseminate operations information to flight crews, ticket counter, ground support crews, aircraft maintenance coordinators and North Slope personnel
- Adapt to dynamic operating situations due to weather or mechanical issues
- Advise the operations and maintenance departments for off-schedule or irregular operations such as aircraft diverts or aircraft maintenance delays
- Prepare for, and play key role, in emergency response operations
- Prepare operations reports
- Other duties as requested or necessary
Basic/Required:
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- 3 or more years of experience in an administrative or clerical role
- 3 or more years of customer service experience
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office: Word, Excel and Outlook
- Willing and able (with or without reasonable accommodation) to work weekends, overtime and holidays
Preferred:
- 1 or more years of experience with iLogistics reservations system
- 1 or more years experience with aircraft flight following or possession of an FAA Dispatch license
- 1 or more years experience working/living on the North Slope and knowledge of North Slope terminology
- Ability to work within a diverse cultural environment
- Ability to manage time and prioritize duties working effectively in a team environment
- Ability to read and understand standard operating procedures and apply them to an operational environment
- High level of integrity and the ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to type a minimum of 50 wpm
- Ability to work in a fast-paced high visibility, constantly changing environment with minimum supervision
